Fiesta Fiesta!

This past week Brooks has been battling some virus of sorts. He had some stomach issues and pretty bad diaper rash. So I put him on the B.R.A.T diet (bananas, rice applesauce, toast) and nursed him back to health! He's feeling great and is back to being his silly self.

After a long week of classes and baby being sick, Aunt Corinne and Leslie volunteered to study at my place Friday night so I could go out with some friends! It was last minute which made it that much more fun. We had the most perfect weather to reminisce about old times and enjoy downtown Columbus.

This guy below was at Cantina dancing the night away. He was clearly obsessed with himself because he could not dance unless he simultaneously showed people his abs. He was even found later on the floor grinding with a girl in a wheelchair. I wish I had better pictures to convey the grossness of this man.

We topped off our weekend with blueberry pancakes Saturday morning followed by a visit to the Latino Festival. It was super hot but we kept cool playing in the water and watching the performances under a nice tent that shielded us from the hot hot sun.

Then we came back for a cookout at my house followed by some icecream eating and BED! I was so exhausted.

This week is gonna be super hectic. Brooks is visiting with my parents today and tomorrow (they're going to take B to his first baseball game!) and then I will be studying for finals and then Brooks with be with Zach's parents during actual exam week. I am so excited for this quarter to be over and then only ONE MORE LEFT! Speaking off, I'd better get to work! Enjoy you're week everyone!

A weekend with no plans!

Ahhhh B must be getting some teeth because he has been a terror this weekend! It's so hard to keep my sanity when there is constant whining. And I feel so bad for the little booger, I just wish he knew how to tell me he was in pain without having to scream! I'm lucky I have these pictures to remind myself that even though there were lots of tears this weekend, we still had a pretty darn good time!

Notice B's tongs; they are actually supposed to squeeze the excess water out of tea bags, but he asked to use them so he could help Grandpa flip the burgers.

Brooks on a mission:
This is Brooks attempting to get anything on the end table that he is not allowed to have. He is gasping that I will not let him have it, and immediately after he throws a fit. I gotta work on those haha!

Who needs the zoo when you have a fake one in the mall with air conditioning?

Convo Corinne overheard by some 4 year old kids in the play area:
Boy: Ugh, I'm tired, I need to take a break
Girl: Ok, you just stand there and act like a statitute and I'll be back
Boy: Ok?
Girl: Just don't move and be a statitute and I'll go looking for you

I'll keep you guys updated on the teeth. He needs to step it up because even that little boy he met at the "zoo" who was younger than him had 4 more teeth! Have a good week everyone and wish B luck on his teeth!

'Fair'ly good time!

Jan, Baby, and I beat the heat on Friday and headed to the Ohio State Fair. We were both so excited, first and foremost for the food, but also for the crazy people watching. Unfortunately, it was almost TOO hot to eat anything, and we went during the day which wasn't ideal people watching time, but we had a blast anyway.

Poor Brooks was slightly terrified of the petting zoo. He had nothing to worry about because the animals could barely move because of the heat. But he didn't understand that so he continued to grip the back of my arms each time I tried to get him closer to the animals.

We had to rush outta the petting zoo so we did not miss the pig races. That was also a main priority for Jan and I. We got there just in time. Unfortunately Jan was in charge of the camera and obviously does not have my kind of skills, so she missed the majority of the race haha. So I took over for the last race which was with the big fat pigs who were super slow. Brooks couldn't have cared less about the race. He would rather answer phone calls and play with some random fry on the ground.

We had to take a break and get in some shade after that. We visited some random shark tank thing which turned out to be pretty cool. And then we visited some shops and sat in front of a giant fan and snacked on some fruit.

It was a crazy tiring day and we were only there for a couple hours.

We topped that with a visit from Uncle Ryan this weekend. Ryan ran the grill all weekend including filet mignon, asparagus, red potatoes, corn on the cob, grilled chicken, and strawberry shortcake for dessert! I cleaned up after him and made some spinach nuggets for babe. He looved them..what a weirdy!

I reluctantly decided to get B's haircut too this weekend. I love him with his long hair but it was getting so long I was pinning it back with a bobby pin so it would stay out of his eyes. So I was left with no choice. The kid looks handsome either way, so I couldn't lose. He just looks so much older now and I want him to still be my little baby :(

I've got a lot of studying to do these next couple weeks but we'll make time for something fun! Have a great week everyone!

P.S. I've picked the theme and colors and such for Brooks's birthday party. I CANNOT WAIT! All I wanna do is plan for his party, but I have to wait until this quarter is over...AHHHHH!
