So this weekend was our first annual KD reunion of friends at Put-In-Bay. I was so excited to even be going because I had to ask off work for Saturday. But luckily Jan worked some magic and talked to the manager and we were both free. So we headed up immediately at 2:30 after work on Friday. 29 hours later we arrived (actually only 5 but car rides are horrible!...might I mention, I believe we only stopped twice to use the restroom, not too shabby for a pregnant chic huh?) Jan and I rode over on the ferry to meet Emily and Saunders on the other side, along with 19 billion may flies...only the grossest bugs ever. We then headed for our condo for the weekend. I flew in quickly, cuz shockinly I was about to pee my pants. And what did I find when I entered the house?...all my best friends with blue balloons and an IT'S A BOY banner hanging from the windows. I was so surprised, it was the best ever! I let them all touch my stomach for a hot second (something I don't let most people do!) before I ran to the restroom. And what did I find in the shower? Corinne and Maggie!!!! I didn't know it was possible but I was even more excited for my weekend away. We just hung out and gossiped all night and saved the festivities for the next day.
The next day was the baby shower. We played fun games and opened up awesome presents. My friends are the best. Not only did they each get me their own gift, but they also went together and got me a video baby monitor, AND did not make me pay for the entire weekend. I could not ask for better friends and I appreciate them more than they know. Each one of them has been there for me in so many different ways these past few months and I hope I can return the favor some day.
Next, we headed for the park/lake to lay out and swim for the rest of the day. I got myself a little tan and a lot more freckles. It was beautiful! We went home and got ready for the evening. The night ended at a bar where they recognized me on stage for being so redneck as to have a baby shower at Put-in-Bay, and dedicated the song "Redneck Woman" to me. See...I told you my friends were the best!
Anyways, now I'm back to my life in the warehouse. Counting down the days to exciting things helps me get through it. So next on my list is July 4th...always a successful holiday! So here starts my counting...12 more days!!! Whoop Whoop
